Challenge has a provider agreement with the NYS Department of Health, Bureau of Early Intervention, a public program for children under the age of three who are either suspected of having or at risk for developmental delays and disabilities. Our program is approved, regulated and funded by NYS Department of Health and the NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygiene. A child’s eligibility for the program can be determined only by state-approved evaluators under contract. All needed EI services for eligible children are identified in collaboration with the parent and must be authorized by the municipality. The municipality will arrange for service providers, considering the individual needs of the child and family, as authorized by the NYC Early Intervention Officials. All services are provided at no cost to parents. Health insurance may be used for approved services.
