COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Children who exhibit selective eating habits may be at risk for a range of specific nutrient deficiencies. Research has shown children with special needs, particularly autism spectrum disorders, are at higher risk for nutritional deficiencies due to their limited diets. This course will review specific nutrient deficiencies found in the pediatric population. Strategies and interventions to both prevent and treat deficiencies will be covered.
